Assignment 15A - Figuring out Buyer Behavior No. 2

Report Findings and Draw Conclusions

I conducted three interviews, and each left me with new ideas and designs for my buisness model. My first inetrview was with Mitchell, he told me that he thought I could market this not so much to the students, but expand on the great PR opportunity all the Universities that would implement this course would recieve, considering they would be promoting a class that would be benefitting the students and theoretically reduce their stress level which is increasingly on the rise with college students and young adults.

My second intreview with Drake also followed my business model and how I plan to sell my course model. He said I need to either find or conduct research that corolates to the stress levels of students in my target market area. He said that it would help me sell my product if I give numbers that would add credibility to my claim that students who take this course could benefit from a reduction in stress about the everyday life tasks they face when living on their own for the first time.

And finally my third interview offered me a new perspective on the cirricculum my course would cover, and not so much about the business side of it. Lindsay said that she would love some tips on how to get involved on campus and how to utilize all the unique resourses UF has to offer. That each cirriculum could have a built in section that is specific to whatever school decides to use it and can promote/highlight the features of that school. For example, UF could highlight all of the clubs and organizations, all of the free student athletic events, Gator Nights, the arts and crafts center and the game room in the retiz, etc.

In conclusion, this segment enlightened me to new ideas and ways of marketing my business model. Overall, my course needs to have specific plans and outlines that can be adaptable to the school and timing of the course being taught, or it would not be entirely applicable and the investment would not be worth it. All of my interviewees had not heard of any competitors to my business plan and agreed with the statement that this could be helpful to a lot of students if done right. I need to do research first and then go to the administrators at each college I am planning on marekting it too for feedback. I should also consider all of the ideas I have for the course topics and figure out which ones will make the cut and which ones are not as necessary.

  1. Hi Kayla,
The interviews that you were able to conduct seemed like it really helped you get an understanding about how your idea could possibly be seen. I like how one of your interviewees mentioned the idea of adding ways to get more involved on campus to your curriculum course. I think that would help bring more interested in the course as well. This way the course would have a little bit of everything.

  2. Hiya Kayla, I am so excited about these interviews because I think that it is wonderful that you are looking more to expand to the colleges because they are the ones that are going to want to pick this idea up as a business venture than if you offered it individually to students. Most students don't look for classes outside of there curriculum, it is something that can be offered online and be treated like a class similar to the "good-life". Something that they are required to take, so good luck.

  3. Hi Kayla,
It seems like your interviews were really insightful and your interviewees were really helpful. The information they gave you is spot on. Your product is easy to understand and mostly anyone can benefit from taking a class like that. Unlike mine, it was hard to find people who actually cared or wanted to provide me with their thoughts.
