Assignment 15A - Figuring out Buyer Behavior No. 2

Report Findings and Draw Conclusions        I conducted three interviews, and each left me with new ideas and designs for my buisness model. My first inetrview was with Mitchell, he told me that he thought I could market this not so much to the students, but expand on the great PR opportunity all the Universities that would implement this course would recieve, considering they would be promoting a class that would be benefitting the students and theoretically reduce their stress level which is increasingly on the rise with college students and young adults.        My second intreview with Drake also followed my business model and how I plan to sell my course model. He said I need to either find or conduct research that corolates to the stress levels of students in my target market area. He said that it would help me sell my product if I give numbers that would add credibility to my claim that students who take this course could benefit from a ...

Assignment 14A - Halfway Reflection

Tenaciousness is a competence This course required me to utilize my time management skills. Because you have to do in-depth assignments every week that you cannot do in one sitting and have it turn out good. You have to be able to look ahead and plan out how you will priotitize and divide up the work load so you don't overload yourself at the end of the week. This course also required me to interview people which helped me develop my confidence in speaking to (usually) random people and ask them questions about this class.  Tenaciousness is also about attitude A moment in this class where I felt like giving up was with this weeks assignment with the reading we had to do. I haven't had to read a biography for a while and in the beginning it felt really boring and I started to think I wasn't going to be able to motivate myslef to finish in time. But, I was able to pull through because I feel I have developed a tenacious attitude from this course. That has been developed...

Assignment 13A - Reading Reflection No. 1

Steve Jobs by Walter Issacson 1. About your Entreprenuer What surprised me the most aboute Steve Jobs was that he was very involved in a lot of the desiging process, the idea/development process, and even would throw himself into the advertising process if he felt he could improve it. That was also one of the things I admired most about him, was that he wasnt just one of those CEOs who just sit back and hire people to do all of the work for them, he was involved because he had a personal stake in the outcome of every product Apple was producing. One thing I did not admire about Jobs was that on page 499, it mentioned him getting into a fight and yelling with one of his advertising people James Vincent, telling him his ads sucked and yelled at him over the phone while he was on vacation with his family. I did not admire this becuase I feel that someone as professional as Jobs should be able to articulate what he wants as opposed to just saying something sucks without giving a...

Assignment 12A - Figuring out Buyer Behavior No. 1

Part 1- Segment The market segment I have chosen to target is enrolled university students currently living away from home for school. I have focused on this segment rather than just all college students in general because I found that students who live away from home have more anxiety and stress about the tasks my courses teach than students who live at home.  Part 2 - Interviewees First interviewee is a female college freshmen at UF living on campus  Second interviewee is a female college senior living off campus Third interviewee is a male college sophomore living on campus Part 3 - Interview Summaries The first thing I asked is if she was transitioning into college alright, and she said at first she was very nervous about the simple things like making sure she did her laundry right and didnt shrink any of her clothes or that she wouldnt buy too much at the grocery store and waste money. I asked what helped her overcome those concerns and she said that she...

Assignment 9A- Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

Who: So throughout my second round of interviews, I found that there are people who fall outside my identified market. These are the students who feel like they dont need to learn the skills that would be provided by this class, people who will just "learn as they go" and hope it goes well. Two interviewees who are seniors, and have never had a Home Ec. or instructional type class both claimed they turned out fine and that if they could learn as they go, why cant everyone else? They did admit that they didn't know what they were doing a lot of the time and made their fair share of mistakes but they made it fine and pretty healthy.  They did admit that there was a time that their parents, specifically their mothers were concerned they were not taking care of their bodies right, in regards to what foods they were eating (mostly fast food and ramen) and the fact that the only physical activity they were getting was walking to and from class (which wasn't very far). T...
