Assignment 22A - Elevator Pitch No.3

1)  The pitch. Link: https://youtu.be/mu2Mb-WEDCA  2) A reflection on the feedback you received from your last pitch.  The feedback I recieved from my last pitch was overall positive. I was complimented on the fact that I was being dynamic with my hand gestures. There was no critique on my delivery but some said my content was lacking in the area of how I would market the product.  3)  What did you change, based on the feedback? Based on my feedback, I added more about how I would sell my cirriculum to universities, which is something I had not previously addressed in my last two elevator pitches. I also did not get feeback specifically on this but I recorded in a different location too, I switched from my dorm room to a study room with a more clean background. I also added a blazer to my outfit to make it more professional in appearance.

Assignment 21A - Reading Reflection No.2

Thinking Fast and Slow Summary - Daniel Khneman 1) What was the general theme or argument of the book? I chose this book because it seemed like an interesting title and subject. The theme I found in the books is that it explored two different ways of thinking, the intuitive system and the rational system, reffered to as system 1 and system 2 respectfully, all leading up to  show how our choices are made and how we can make decisions more consciously.  Khneman said that exploring/understanding how those ways of thinking work, will help us make correct personal and professional decisions. He went no to say where we should/should not rely on our intuition and how we can benefit from intuitive or rational thinking. 2) How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning ENT 3003? This book talked alot about thinking and the different systems we use to process thouhght. One part that I could connect with our class is how we are molded by our ex...

Assignment 20A - Growing Your Social Capital

Domain: 1) Who they are and what their background is. Jerry, professor at Florida State College of Jacksonville for 20+ years. 2) How they are a Domain expert.  Since my business has to deal with cirriculum, I figured talking to a professor who works with students and changing cirriculum would be beneficial. 3) A description of how you found the person and contacted the person. I live near where his campus is located so I had emailed him because I knew of the college and had taken dual enrollment classes from him.  4) The nature of the exchange you have with the person -- what favor did they do for you? What is the return expectation?  I explained my product and sent over my recorded video of my elevator pitch then preceded to ask questions about how teachers deal with new cirriculum and how stressed his freshmen level students seem to be. It was a good conversation and he was intrigued by my idea.  5) How will including this person in your ...

Image
My product is a cirriculum that can be sold to universities but for the purpose of the avatar I will describe my ideal student taking my course. My ideal student is a female aged 18-19 who has lived with her parents/guardian her whole life and has ot exerienced having to do "aldut" tasks on her own   before.  She just started school at a university. But not just any university, a top university that boasts of high academic acheivements and has a lot of involvement opportunities for students on campus. She needs to go to a university like this so it makes her schedule and the pressure of collegevery intense. She should be a freshman in her first semester of school. Her hobbies include many academic clubs that take her time away from the simple tasks like laundry and grocery shopping, things that she doesn't place priority on a lot since she is not used to doing things herself. She is having a hard time acclimating to her newfound freedom at college. Where there are no ...

17A - Elevator Pitch No. 2

1. Pitch https://youtu.be/77ZeUsYEhk0 2. Reflection on the feedback I recieved. The feedback I recieved on my last pitch is that I needed to be more dynamic and slow down my speaking. I also recieved feedback on the actual content of my pitch and the tone and speed of my voice. I usually tend to talk fast when I'm nervous so I wasn't surprised that I recieved that feedback. I don't think I found any of my feedback silly, some of it was repetitive though. 3. What did I change, based on the feedback?  In the content of my pitch, I decided to address an opposing viewpoint to my pitch which I think would add another element and dimension to my revised elevator pitch that my first one didnt have. I also made an effort to be more dynamic in my gestures and facial expressions as well as changing and emphasizing points and words with my tone of voice. I think that doing this would add more interst to someone listening to it.

Assignment 16A - What's Your Secret Sauce?

Five ways in which I think I have Human Capital: Desire for Knowledge - Whatever I am doing, I have a desire for knowledge and learning everything I can about the job, and even other peoples jobs. I like to know the "why" behind what I am doing. Respect - Whatever role I am in, wether it is the lead or just an observer, I have respect for anyone working with me becuase I know that if everyone didnt do their job, wether it is deemed big or small, the task wouldn't get done properlly or on time.  Drive - I beleive I have a passion for perfection. This can sometimes be a bad thing but usually it pushes me to be better and also expect great things from the people I am working with.  Independence - I like being able to work by myself and knowing that I do not need to rely on others to complete a task. But this can be a hinderance if a job or project is collaborative or group centered. Relatability - I can usually find common ground with someone who I am working with, thi...
